UGANDA AND RWANDA GREAT APES
SAFARI/GORILLAS AND CHIMP SAFARI
Day one:
On arrival in Entebbe/Kampala, we will meet you at the
airport, and transfer to the Hotel. Later after an early
lunch, transfer to the Lake Victoria Shore for a speed boat
to Ngamba Island for a visit to the Jane Goodall Ngamba
Chimpanzee Sanctuary.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight at the Lake
Victoria Hotel, D.

TRANSIT TIME 5 Minutes
Day Two:
Travel to the Kibale forest after an early breakfast. This
forest is known to hold over 10 primate species among them,
one of the Great Apes, the Chimpanzees. In the evening, we
take a nocturnal forest walk in the forest to spot the Bush
babies, Galagos and pottos. Meals and overnight at the
Kibale Primate Lodge/Chimp Nest/Ndali Lodge.

Day Three:
Breakfast then transfer into the Kibale forest for a
Chimpanzee walk in search of the Great Apes and other
primates. After lunch, travel to Maramagambo forest for
overnight at Jacana Camp Overnight at Jacana
Camp or Mweya Safari Lodge.

TRANSIT TIME 3 HOURS
Day four:
Morning take a morning guided walk in the Chambura Gorge to
trek the Chimpanzees and other primates. This is also a home
to other wildlife including the Hippos. After a picnic
lunch, drive to Bwindi for dinner and overnight at
The Gorilla Resort Bwindi.

TRANSIT TIME 6 HOURS
Day five:
After breakfast, report at the park offices for a
briefing by the ranger guides prior to the trek to find the
Mountain Gorillas with picnic
lunch. The gorillas are tracked, located and after
approximately one hour with them, return to base for a
shower and cold drink. Dinner and overnight atThe
Gorilla Resort Bwindi.

Day six:
Travel to Kisoro after breakfast through beautiful mountain
scenery. After lunch, proceed to the border and cross to
Ruhengeri arriving at the foot of the Muhabura Volcanoes for
dinner at overnight at Mountain Gorilla’s
Nest/View Lodge
Meal Plan - Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day seven:
Breakfast early then transfer to the Virunga volcanoes for
another trek of the Dian Fossey Mountain gorillas. This is
the place where Dian Fossey spent 20 years studying
gorillas. It is also here that the movie “Gorilla’s in the
Mist” was shot on location. Return to your accommodations
for dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla’s
Nest/view Lodge.

Day eight:
After breakfast, transfer to Mbarara for lunch at the
Lakeview Hotel. Later travel to Kampala arriving late
evening(Long drive). Or take a two hour drive to Kigali and
fly to Entebbe, Nairobi for onward flight connections.
